Re: Live Upgrade or new Logic Studio 9

As many people have said, they are both great programs, but right now Logic looks like a nice deal.

Re: iTunes 8.1 DOES NOT drag and drop to Live.

Looks to me like the problem has been fixed in iTunes 8.1.1. I just installed that version, and it made the problem go away. I had the problem with 8.1. I'm using Live 6.0.10 and OS 10.5.6. I have a feeling this problem was Mac only. And maybe not even all Macs (see the comment above at Mar 14, 2009...

Re: iTunes 8.1 DOES NOT drag and drop to Live.

I'm using Live 6.0.10, and OS 10.5.6 (with iTunes 8.1), and iToones works great. Maybe the problem is that you need Leopard.

very happy with mine

I shopped around pretty carefully before I bought it. I was looking for excellent sound quality at a low price. I couldn't find anything else that came close.

neb: "those wavearts plugs cause a glitch in other daws too" Interesting, and good to know. Oddly enough, I have the sense that it's fairly efficient, though. And I like the sound. So my workaround for the moment is to just leave it turned on. Probably I'll end up not needing to use a bunc...

timur: "Try turning off 'Latency Compensation' and let us know if it changes anything" Thanks for your reply. That's a very logical suggestion, and it didn't occur to me to try that. Trouble is, it doesn't help. After looking at the problem some more, I see that it's very easy to reproduce...

partial solution

In the process of digging into this further, I noticed a couple of interesting things. One is that I was able to help things a lot by turning off effects (via automation) when I wasn't using them. I was guessing that Auto Filter used little or no CPU when processing silence, but I was wrong. When I ...

Using automation and routing to minimize effects load on CPU

I'd really appreciate some help figuring this out. I can think of a solution but I'm hoping someone knows a better way. I've searched and read lots of threads that don't quite solve the problem. I want multiple tracks to share a single effect (to minimize CPU load), and I want to use automation to s...

long: "then type the tempo of the incoming song as the tempo for the copy clip " I think you mean type the new tempo as part of the name of Scene 2. OK, that's very intriguing. The idea is to launch Scene 2, which has an unwarped clip containing the end of Track A, and a warped clip contai...

long: "the method you are describing is not the method I suggested" Wow. OK, I know I did this before (declaring victory prematurely), but this time I think the problem is solved. Really. Thanks for being persistent. The problem is that I was trying to make a glitch-free transition, while ...

chrys, I like your attitude, I agree with what you said, and I appreciate your efforts. What surprises me is that I find no sign of a previous conversation about this. I'm surprised because what I want to do is not exotic (seemingly). I realize a dominant DJ style is to play long sets with tempo tha...

long: "is that something that you really want to loop? I thought it was just a short fade-out section." You're right. It would be acceptable if I could have a short section that's not warped and not loopable. As long as the rest of the track was warped and loopable. Trouble is, I can't div...

Darn it! I spoke too soon. Now I'm getting small playback glitches with both the methods I described. Back to the drawing board … chrys: "you should be able to use a keystroke to do most anything a midi button does AFAIK" I know that's how it's supposed to be, but I think the Warp button i...
