Re: Trip Hop Melody
no no no, Hip Hop beats are all about the next stuff, the next level. if you want to push shit forward, you've got to find a unique sample or sound source. like how trance arp presets sneaked into Hip Hop beats, you've got to source your own cutting edge sound. try downloading a few demo versions of...

Re: Are digital EQs basically the same?
somebody posted a thread on here as well about this. if I recall correctly this is true for a certain type of EQ as they all use the same DSP formula. the ones that sound different, like those supposed 'vintage' EQ's use distortion and such to change the character of the sound, so the magic happens ...

Re: a history lesson on electronic music
that site should be a Wiki, so everybody here could have this discussion on there...
I would also at this point like to say I have no moral stance towards (meaningless small sub-) genre classification. I used to but I've gotten rid of it.

Re: me vs hi hats
the thing that bothers me most about your hihats is that they sound like they're not from the same 'kit'. Even though the sounds in a drum kit are very different from each other, they do complement each other, your hihats don't at all. get new sounds, make them on operator, sample them, do whatever ...

Re: Where did you last have sex??
It's called In De Gloria and it was a belgian humoristic show on the telly.
I guess it's hard to see it's all acted for non native speakers, nonetheless, one of belgian's tv humour highlights, ever.

Re: Pitch shifting plug-in within Live?
if you set graindelay at 100% wet and the time to the shortest possible, 1ms you can use pitch value to change the pitch almost instantly (how much is 1ms for a live signal?). Add some spray to taste...

Re: DJ MODE AUTO WARP STRAIGHT PLEASE
See, Ableton has a way of detecting the transients and the first downbeat that works a little different from Traktor and such, because it's not exclusively used for full mixed tracks. It is designed to work on a wide range of audio you trow at it. This sometimes makes it behave a little bit wrong. A...
