Re: MIDI Keyboard not syncing with Ableton
Since version 6? And you stuck with Ableton? There's got to be some kind of award for that sort of tenacity! Well, let's start with some basics: Specs for your computer and OS version? Kind of MIDI keyboard and current preferred connection type? Is the keyboard plugged into a USB port on your ...

Re: New to Ableton and Daws really need help
I've got the BeatStep not the BSPro, but this probably applies: Open up the MIDI prefs. You'll see that the BSPro is listed as a Control Surface. Change that to NONE . The input and output for Control Surface settings won't matter at that point. Throw a drum rack into an empty MIDI track. Set the MI...

Then again think about how many big name plugin producers still completely ignore the iOS market!

Re: Beginner question about outputs/panning
There's a decent way to do this, but things may start to sound wonky.....and there's a clean way to do this. This method DOES NOT address your panning needs at all.... There's no way with MIDI track setup like this that I can think of... Create a track that has your instrument, and set MIDI From to ...

Re: Issue with Instrument Rack for Changing Presets
Well, I went the simple route and within each clip sent a Device on/off message - depending on it's order in the chain. Works perfectly.

EDIT: Looks like chrk has read up a bit on the hardware and that my suggestion probably won't work based on his response....

Issue with Instrument Rack for Changing Presets
I've set up an Instrument Rack with different synth VSTs. I'm using dummy clips to move the chain selector, and have mapped the chain selector ruler to Macro 1. I've also mapped the device activator to Macro 1 as well. You can see what I've done in this tut: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/article...

Re: Recording MIDI from keyboard and converting to audio track
Quick and dirty way? Create a new Audio track and set the audio from to 'Resampling'. Arm session record record. Start your MIDI clips playing and simply hit the record button at an empty clip slot. Any effects you've got in your Sends will also be recorded into the new clip.

Re: Live foot controller other than Behringer?
Used Keith McMillen's Softstep 2 for a couple of years before the Nektar Pacer got released. It required far too much looking down at it. Easy to push the wrong thing. I know exactly what you mean. I'm still using the 1st version and not only do you have to look down, you end up pressing the pads w...

I was actually thinking about spending more time here. Over the last couple years I've been burning my forum calories at a place where you can talk about the topics that are forbodden here but with some (relative) respect for others. It's just not as good without the personal insults this forum onc...
