Patchname scripts
External instrument devices are great for working with my MIDI hardware, but the icing on the cake would be to support patchname scripts. I received Cubase LE with my XBoard 61 and although it's extremely limited compared to Live 8, I'm drooling over being able to select a patch by name on my XV-508...

Re: Ableton Live 8 + padKontrol = all i ever wanted from an mpc
It's hard to put into words the difference between using an MPC vs Live as a sequencer. The best analogy I can give is playing a video game on the PC vs a console. Live is the PC and the MPC is the console. Make sense? Personally, I prefer sequencing in Live for Trance and sequencing on the MPC for ...

Routing MIDI channels to VST
When I use an external sequencer to play a multi-timbral VST (i.e. Sonik Synth, ProteusX, etc..), I have to setup MIDI channels to route each channel coming into Live from the external sequencer to the appropriate channel in the VST. Is this the only way to do this? If I arm the VST track, I see the...

Re: Does E-MU Xboard aftertouch work with USB power?
Turns out I got an old box that didn't come with the expansion packs. The aftertouch is still not working so I'm going to RMA the board.

Re: Does E-MU Xboard aftertouch work with USB power?
It works fine here. Note what ark says about channel vs poly aftertouch. You also might want to look at your calibration menu to set the range. ew Thanks for all the replies! It's a total mystery why it doesn't work on my computer. I went into the calibration menu and the aftertouch sensitivity set...

Does E-MU Xboard aftertouch work with USB power?
I'm on my second XBoard 61 because I thought the first was defective. It sends note on/off messages, but no aftertouch. I tested it with MIDI-OX so I could see all the incoming MIDI messages. Aftertouch is enabled on the keyboard. Do I need to give it DC power in order to get aftertouch? I didn't se...

Re: Arrangement of drum tracks in a drum rack
actually can't you make a filter rack, with a pitch plug on each chain which limits a chain to a single note... and then grab MIDI from those chains on the MIDI input tracks which feed the drum rack ok finally had a minute to test this. works great. kind of a lot of tracks... but you had most of th...

Re: Default preset for Drag Sample to Instrument Rack action
Fantastic! Not very intuitive, but it works! Thanks!Amaury wrote:Hello,
If you save a Simpler preset in Defaults/Dropping Samples/On Track View, the same Simpler preset will be used when dropping a sample in an empty Instrument Rack chain. Try it!

Re: Arrangement of drum tracks in a drum rack
MIDI CHANNELS in addidion to midi tracks. so e.g. snare is on midi channel 3 and it's track only recieves ch3 Gotcha. But then my controller would need to send each MIDI note to a different channel, right? I don't think any of my controllers have this capability built-in, but I'm sure I can use Bom...

Re: Arrangement of drum tracks in a drum rack
Okay, I tried this out and I'm not too hip on having a separate device on each track. I find it better to have one track host the Drum Rack and create separate MIDI tracks for each pad that all send their output to the Drum Rack track. It would be even better if I could figure out how to filter eac...

Re: Arrangement of drum tracks in a drum rack
Thanks the link. That step sequencer looks cool regardless! Although that is definitely the worst designed website I've ever visited. They're in need for a major rehaul.

Default preset for Drag Sample to Instrument Rack action
I need a default preset for dragging a sample to the Instrument Rack. If I had it, I'd set it to create a Simpler with infinite release time to aid in creating multi-sampled drum kits.

Auto-create tracks for all outputs
If I have a track hosting a VST with multiple outputs, I'd like to have the option to automatically create audio tracks for each of the outputs, rather than create them all manually.
