A bunch of example of the upcoming fxpansion DCAM Synth Squad:
Strobe is like a super SH-101/Pro-One/Moog etc. type synth.
Cypher is like an anlog fm style MS-20/ARP2600 type of thing.
Especially check out those Robert Elster mp3's.

damn! Those demos sound nuts! I only got to the third or fourth one and my stomach started burbling and i felt the onset an acute case of G.A.S...
Ive never been a big fan of a company just cloning an old synth. with this stuff I like the fact that they are just modeling individual circuits from a bunch of diff synths and combining them. and again, the demos sound ridiculous!

The modeling of analog circuitry is the one area where I think there is still significant room for improvement in software synthesis. There is a saturation of advanced sound design tools with interesting synthesis techniques and endless modulations (absynth, alchemy, zebra etc.), but while Arturia, GForce, Audiorealism, sylenth1 etc. have nailed certain aspects of the "analog" sound, I think DCAM might be a step in advancing the modeling analog gear to an even closer approximation. They seem to be some of the best layouts I've seen yet in soft synths as well. I like this desing philosophy were they try to get the most usefulness out of the least amount of controls and everything is immediately available on a single pane interface. It really does bring back the immediacy and fun of the classic hardware gear, yet benefit from things like the cool modulation system they've implemented (Massive like visual feedback of paramter modulations).
