Anyone mixes Surround 5.1 on Ableton Live?
I'm quite interested in surround mixing, recording and live performance, but unaware how it should be done, is it possible to do at all with Live? I could think of different sends solutions, but is it that simple?
Cheers in advance

Live does not support multi-channel audio in any convenient way (no joystick/circular panners for example).
Here's how a couple of people (myself included), are doing quad given Live's limitations:

Thanks for your reply mr. Strategy. Those solutions sound quite interesting you're introducing in the thread you linked. Although I'm starting to think that for live mixing I don't necessarily need 5.1 support from my software since I'm about to buy a desk with 5.1.
And what comes to studio mixing, there's always PT which is my mastering tool anyways.
But anyhow, I'd find it necessary addition to Live to have real multi-channel support, so I'll go and give it my vote.

BTW mr. Strategy, while we're at it, do you have any experiences about this mixer http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/products/ ... index.html. It ought to be 5.1 able. I've mixed with it a couple of times (the v2), and it felt pretty nice desk, but never got change to test the claimed 5.1 ability.

My apologies for taking so long to reply. Since the other two Yamaha digital mixers I have used do support 5.1, I would think that this one does too.LeifonMars wrote:BTW mr.
