Some cool field recording stuffs i found out and about like.

Like, out in the Suffolk wilds and came across this outdoor play area with these cool kids instrument play things:

1) Organ pipe style wind bellows, see saw foot activated wooden thingummybobs:

Jump up and down from end to end and get the organ stylee sounds, like this:

See Saw Organ Wav

2) Bells rung by jumping up and down on a 3 x 3 metal pad matrix, tuned to a 3 octave triad. (*I think, havent ratified that)

Sounds like this:

Jump Bells wav

Pretty cool I thought. s.me in the pic with my H2 and my lil girl jumping on the bells.

Cool, we have exactly the same two toys in a park here close to the beach. I like the birds on your recording - here we probably would have the sound of cars instead ...

But at least you have the beach Pepe! :D

Yeah, it's the first time I've seen anything like those, surprised they don't have similar in the States. I noted they were made in Germany but still, you can see them getting snapped up globally.

OK, so I've got these recordings.

I also got some water falls and 'sounds of the forest' type stuff.

What would you do with them, use the neat or magle them up in Sampler somehow? Any ideas?

I would love to make a piece of music just using those sounds but...maybe a bridge too far?

Tres cool bro!

I've been fiddling around at lunch here and decided some use as they are and some will be snippy snippy sample up some single cycel waveform stuff, really zoom in on it and make some new sounds from birdsong and th water etc.

nice.

Our city planners decided that a lot of our kids parks/ play areas where too dangerous. Looked exactly like the background in the picture - metal slides, wooden fort, multi-level play structures.

Crews replaced everything with big bubbly plastic, all rounded corners and low the ground. Replaced all the sand with chunks of recylced tire rubber.

I'm waiting for someone to try and eat a piece of rubber, and almost choke.

Then we can have a park with grass and trees again.

Fak

I've never seen a musical instrument toy in a park here.

Jealous.

Health and safety gone mad man...it's the same here in the UK in general. but they'd rather have the kids spinning and jumping than doing crack so it kind of works...

Nice.

Reminds me of 'Virginia Astley's, 'From the Gardens where we feel secure'which came out in '83.

Quintissential album of field recordings done in the english countryside mixed in with piano, oboe, and a childrens choir.

My buddy just bought a new Yamaha portable recorder. We're gonna go have some fun with it at the weekend!
