How was Live 1like?

Post by Der_Makrophag » Sat Mar 21, 2009 11:21 pm

Hi there!
I just asked myself how Live 1 was like, because I only know it since version 4. I found no screenshots on google, anyone has some? Or a page still dealing with version 1?
I think it would be an interesting think to compare to the upcoming 8th version!?
My English is not perfect, I know... Sorry about that.

Greetings from Germany!

P.S. to wishlist forum users: Please search for former requests. Otherwise they will be splitted into many small ones and we are loosing impact!!!

Ever push your fingers all the way in, then pull them out again and find awful smelling stuff under your fingernails?

I started on 2. It was much more stripped down. The browser had like 10 or 15 things in it, that was it.

Simple and focused, but not as easy to control and the sound engine was not as good. Ableton's time-stretch routines have improved a lot since then.

No, Elastique is what is called "complex", and I think that arrived in version 5 (?)

The 'beats' mode was created by one of the original Ableton chaps, way back when there were very few of them.

Live 1 was so completely different from the program (Logic) I'd been using till then, and it was able to do so many things that I always had wanted to do, like jamming, that I immediately fell in love with it. and bought it.
it really felt like a gift from heaven..

cheers
