Loop that bit?
Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
no, because in a loop i can not hear the clearly end and beginning.
btw. when i move the marker, i would need to re-adjust the loop. that's very uncomfortable, too.
there must be a possibility to play the wave part from marker to marker only !
that's the only way to make proper slices and warp-parts (beat-warp-mode = "->")!

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
Can't you place the markers just visually?
Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
what do you mean ??Can't you place the markers just visually?
what should that be good for ?
Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
in this picture you can see the default transients made by LIVE.
it's a beat.

as you can see LIVE does not find the proper beginning and end of this beat.
i need to fine tune the transients.
when i play the selection between the transients in a loop, i can't hear the beginning and the end
of the selection. so that doesn't make sense.
the only way to listen to the selection is the possibility to play the selection in one shot !
i would expect something like CTRL + mouse-click on the selection,
but i can't find that function.
ps: in this shown case, you can do the finetuning maybe just visual, but ... when you make music it's better to trust your ears and not your eyes !
and when the sounds are fading into each other the visual way won't work anyway !
(... and live will cause much more bad results than in this clean example, too)

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
it did find the beginning.
use your ears not your eyes.i need to fine tune the transients.
so just make the loop section wider.when i play the selection between the transients in a loop, i can't hear the beginning and the end
of the selection. so that doesn't make sense.
that makes no sense.the only way to listen to the selection is the possibility to play the selection in one shot !
but you told me in the other thread that you already knew about ctrl+4.i would expect something like CTRL + mouse-click on the selection,
but i can't find that function.
you're not making much sense.ps: in this shown case, you can do the finetuning maybe just visual, but ... when you make music it's better to trust your ears and not your eyes !

yeah chicken,
sorry for the wrong answer. i unfortunately ignored your second question
.
You need a playback function like recycle has it? I think its not possible. But it would be a nice feature.

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
looking at your image:
extend loop bracets and or move start marker ?
also there the fade button on any clip, might want to try how it sounds when you turn fade off
you could also try to slice to midi, imo gives better/tighter control on start and end of every bit
i mean sounds like you understand most of this allready,in that case i would keep messing about until it sounds
good

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
@Tone Deft
sorry, but i can see that you don't understand the issue.
@wehkah
yes. now you understand this basic thing.
let's sinply call it "play selection"
... no, really, i can't believe that this basic funktion does not exist in live 8.
slicing to midi is what i will (maybe) do after i have fine tuned the slices by transients.
it wouldn't make sense to slice not-proper beat-parts.
so first of all i need to have proper audio-slices.
if i would adjust the audio-slices after midi slicing, the slices wouldn't fit with the midi groove, because the groove-timing would change when adjusting the audio slices after midi slicing.
... but ok, that's maybe to difficult to understand, if you don't really understand my first issue.

no ! i need to listen the selection, not what comes befor or after.extend loop bracets
Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
turn off 'loop'. you can also go ahead and slice to midi and adjust start/end points there.chicken wrote:need to listen from one marker to the next, only !

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
I had reviewed your prior posts and i think you should buy Recycle and use it as external sample editor. Otherwise contact ableton to add the missing features in a further version or use the feature wishlist! Please remember Live is not a sample editor.
I agree, this feature would be nice.
cheers

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
... and then ? how can i play the selection between the markers ?turn off 'loop'.
i allready answered this and the related problem in my last posting.you can also go ahead and slice to midi and adjust start/end points there.
but live has the feature to slice. so it should also bring the possibility to make proper slices. Please remember Live is not a sample editor.
... btw. when i was asking ableton (about 6 years ago) if they could integrate a slicing tool or a possibility to control the clips via midi, they said "no. live is not a midi sequencer"

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
you've been using Live for 6 years and don't know how to play the section between the markers?

Re: how to listen / play from one marker to the next ?
no, tone def. i didn't say i'm using live since 6 years.
but i am monitoring it since version 1 and now they started to integrate the features that i was asking for about 6 years ago.
live is a good idea, but still not working exactly enough for using it for professional production.
live was meant to be a LIVE programm, not for music production. ... but it's getting better, and going closer to a production quality sequencer.
the warp algo is still a mess in many situtions. the 10years old prosoniq time factory still brings better results in some cases. that's why ableton e.g. have a new algo now, and also the possibility to slice without warp-stretching (->).
that's good and it brings proper soundquality. ... but at least it's worth nothing if you can't edit a proper slice selection. that's the point of this threat !
btw., thanx for your good will, but it would be better if you keep off this topic, because i'm sure you can't help ! thanx for your understanding.
