Yeah, the update is now available. Could anyone with the update installed share with us how Live 8 functions, that would be great.

I like to clone before updating, then you can update in peace.

There are some issues being reported:

Monitor/Display Resolution of 1920 x 1200 not being recognized:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....04318&tstart=0
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....04341&tstart=0

Some people report that external hard drives are not being recognized:
http://www.macrumors.com/2009/05/12/app ... -7-update/

Also reported: hanging on restart, which then requires a hard shutdown & restart.

Caution may be advisable.

Tried downloading it. Software Update said it couldn't be downloaded because the file had been tampered with or something to that effect. Scared the shit out of me.

*sits this one out for a while*

Thanks for catching & reporting this.

I found them at Apple's Discussions:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp ... 9&#9455109
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp ... 2&#9455142

There does seem to be a workaround -you can find it in the links.

Weird thing: I noticed that the Mac Rumors site had added more info to their original topic (Apple relaesed some additional updates), & their site wouldn't let you view the comments -this has been fixed, but the comments are all new since they updated their posting -the old comments with those links are gone:

Same thing happened to me. But I suspect it's because the download was going awfully slooooow and eventually timed out.
I'll try again in a couple of days, hopefully a little less pressure on Apple's servers by then.

Looks like the resolution issue is limited to those using HDMI cables:
DVI-Out (Mac) -> HDMI-In (Monitor)

There is a workaround outlined in the URLs I previously posted in this thread.

Apple knows about this issue, & is working on a fix.

eeek! these apple updates always scare me. between all the au and vst plugins, logic studio, final cut pro and all the other softy i use there's always something that quits working.

+1 for cloning before update!

cheers,
