I have to post some pics of my recent setups. All out doors. :)
I have made 4 tracks in 6 weeks now. Normal pace is maby.. 1 track in 6 weeks or something.. Gotta love the fresh air.

sold the apc-40,Maschine,Reaktor 5,Alchemy,Mackie hr824's.

the only plugin i kept was the absolute amazing Absynth 5.

bought the m-audio Axiom Pro 49,Korg Padkontrol,Logic Studio 9,and the fan-tas-tic ADAM A8X(the best studio monitor i ever heard, totally neutral,natural-sounding and totally unforgiving imo.they stick any crap or flaw in my mixes/masters right in my face.
bad mixes/masters sound godsdamn horrendously awful, good mixes/masters on the other hand sound fantastic!!!!!!)

next up : a GIK acoustics roomkit, none of this horrible looking foam crap anymore.
it does the job,but that's about it.plus i'm too lazy to go the DIY route.........

Little tip: cut off a little cable tidy and use it for your breakout cable. I do it for mine and it makes it look so much cleaner :)

@33tetragammon:

how are the pots on the axiom pro compared to the ones on the apc?
are they dented, like those crappy ones on the standard axiom?
or are they as good as the apc ones?

cheers

daniel
I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

the knobs on the axio pro are not detented, and are a little smoother and looser that the ones on the apc.
the nifty thing here is that you have an "encoder acceleration" in the Axiom pro's menu:
so when you turn slow, the value increases/decreases slow.
when you turn fast, the opposite happens.
problem is that if i set this value to more than 6(on a scale from 1-10),and turn two knobs at the same time in Live, the knobs get "stuck" softwarewise.
doesn't happen with Logic Studio 9 though.

for me,the Axiom Pro 49 is the best controller i have ever owned,it intelligently works with most daw's,and does it really well(especially Logic Studio 9).plus you can assign keycommands to the numerical keys and drumpads.
better than Novation and automap imo, although i must admit i had to get used to the lcd screen being at the left side of the Axiom pro.

faders are also really good, stiff, but not too stiff, and are very precise.

i hope that helps you!

best,

Wasili

Can you post a picture of this? Curious what I can do to make my rats nest of cables look better.

yeah, that helps. Thx for the reply.
I always hated acceleration algorithms on endless rotaries though...
