I think I understand, but im not 100% sure, so wanted to wave the flag of help.
Basically, Ive got a Behringer BCD300 for controlling in sessionn view. Ive mapped it so that the 4 faders controll volume for 4 tracks, and assaigned associated start/stop etc. Currently I only have EQ on Channel 2 & 3, because theres only enough rotrary controllers EQ for 2 channels. The top 4 central rotrary controllers I want to use for Looping.

I want to be able to have EQ for all 4 channels/tracks. Im not 100% on scripts yet, and theres not that many resources on it, and the Ableton help is minimal haha, but I was wondering if editing a UserRemoteScript I could set up 4 buttons to act as Bank buttons. So Pressing Button 1 (Bank1) the EQ rotrary controllers could control EQ for tracks 2&3, and Button 2 (Bank2) would let the controllers control EQ for Tracks 1&4. See pic below for help.



Buttons in Box A, trigger Banks 1,2,3&4 respctively. Button 1 (Bank 1) activates control for Controllers in Box B to control Parameters for Tracks 2&3, Button 2 (Bank 2) activates control for controllers in Box B to control paramters for Tracks 1&4, etc.

Am I right in thinking this? Or have I the wrong end of the Stick with regards to Banks etc?

Also, I want to assign track Solo/Cue buttons. Is there a way to find the exact name for this so I can edit the script to add these assignments?
Im guessing it would be TrackSolo/CueButton# ???

I've just been trusting this statement...

...you can solely map the given functions to your Control Surface. You can neither add functions nor can you change the banks of device parameters.

...have you heard of an undocumented way to add additional functions?

Bank parameter explained here: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php? ... 90&start=0 - I think this is something very different to the type of control you are looking for.

Maybe you're coming to the end limits of what you can do with the instant mapping now and need to look to Mackie Emulation or Bomes type control to go further...

Hi all,
Im still struggling. I had done some degree of setting up using the UserConfiguration, got the sliders controlls track volume, and assaigned the 8 rortrary controllers to Encoders. Then kinda left it for a day and the little blue had was appearing on certain effects - so I thought all good.
Today, Ive come back to it to attack banks as I think I have a better understanding, having read http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php? ... 90&start=0 .
However, with Live now, when I open it, despite the control surface being recognised and selected in the list in preferences, I have no control with the surface at all. The blue hand doesnt appear of effects either now. Gonna keep at it, but this is since adding in CCs for the Bank section.....
Update: Removing the CC assignments for the Banks in the UserConfiguration regains control of the surface. arghhg. Wish i was more code savvy
