hi
since I got the launchpad and added it to my other control surfaces in live,
the LED refresh/update-rate gets very slow. I started thinking about my whole USB-Performance and the priority of the devices in order to achieve better performance. I'm wondering how other musicians handle
their devices.
Probably somebody got suggestions regarding my setup:
I got a notebook with 4 USB-Ports and a 7port USB2.0 hub(active)
My USB-Devices and are:

USB 2.0:
M-Audio Fast track ultra 8R -> plugged straight in my Notebook USBport
USB 1.1:
2*Launchpad->both connected to an active HUB(2.0)to my notebook
Oxygen8v1->also in the active HUB as third and last device
BCR2000->plugged straight in my Notebook USBport
Logitech access point for wireless mouse and Keyboard (using it without the LT driver and software)
also plugged straight in my Notebook USBport

Also in live connected as control-surface is the FCB1010,running with a script, but it isn't a midi device.

What do you suggest? Do you have an idea, which order would be best?Should I get an expresscard with separate dedicated USB 2.0ports which I assign to just one device each? I appreciate all suggestions.
In the Launchpad manual is written that more than one device should run on a active usb-hub, but
to me it sounds like both devices are sharing the transfer-rate, arent they?
thanks

Re: Launchpad, usb port priority, midi controler general
I simply attached a further pci i/o controller card since then my launchpad response immediately and without absence (almost as quick as real-time, not kidding)...turrican wrote: What do you suggest? Do you have an idea, which order would be best?

As you already mentioned by the use of an hub both devices will share the transfer-rate therefore I advise an expresscard in cases where a notebook is used. The term "active-hub" hasn't got a benefit concerning the transfer-rate because those hubs also use the "USB-Root-Hub" which is the bottleneck. The most cases where an active hub is suggested are those to avoid an additional power supply.

Yes! Good to hear it, I'll by an express card usb expansion!
Thank you!
Thank you!
