hello,
New to ableton, and i was using a tutorial file recently. i must have accidentally set the .als file as the default 'launch' template, because each time i open new project it loads the tutorial... annoying. can someone tell me how i can reset to the standard template?
i apologise for the retardedness of this question.
graham.

Re: Need help restoring the initial new project screen....
Hi, you have a couple of options. Firstly, you can open a new set, then manually delete all the clips and devices and extra tracks that you got with the tutorial set, until the set is nice and empty. Then in Live's preferences there's an option to save this current set as your default template.
Second option is to find and delete the current default template live set file ( the .ALS) file which is stored somewhere in Live's application support files - have a rummage round to find it. Then next time Live starts up it'll notice that old template file is missing and it will automatically create the factory default template set again for you.

Go to File. hold Shift and click New Live Set.
That should open up a blank template
Go to Preferences
File Folder tab,
Press Save Current Set as Default
