Hallo Abes!
I really hope that the Live 8.1.3 Release Candidate not will be the final release candidate! Its so frustrating! I can not do anything with this release without it crashes! I am seriously thinking about leaving Live until this brilliant concept will be stable like Reason. I just dont get it? Whats going wrong? Why is it so difficult for Ableton to release a staple piece of software? I was hoping that the new way Ableton would handle this problem would help, but it seems that we have to wait months for a final release so we actually hopefully can produce some music. How many years do you gonna beta test the 8.1.3 version before it gets released? For me its enough waiting! Its a shame how you guys treat us! Months of beta testing which actually makes the problem even worse and i dont believe that Ableton really cares about its longterm users and licence owners.
Shame on you Ableton!
Get a new programmer! The one you got SUCKS!
Regards.........

Why not post something about your setup? I had huge problems with Live crashing when I upgraded to 8.1.3, but I sorted it out. I also upgraded OS X 10.6.3 at the same time. I figured the problems was not due Live, it was dodgy M-Audio driver for this version of OS X, I can´t run my Radium 61 keyboard over USB together with my Fast Track Pro audio card, it causes Live to crash. I have to run the keyboard using a midi-cable through the audio card. Lesson: Only upgrade one thing at the time... probably I should notify M-Audio about this, the bug is easy to reproduce.
After I figured this out my setup hasn´t crashed once. My setup is
Macbook Unibody (late 2008), 4GB ram OS X 10.6.3
Live Suite 8.1.3
M-Audio Fast Track Pro
M-Audio Radium 61 Keyboard
Launchpad
Novation Zero SL

I did off course send the bug lists to Ableton.

Pity we've pad nearly as much again for M4L to find that development stopped pretty much after it was released....

If they pulled everyone off dev projects to work on Live it might have caused the m4l bits to slow down. Or maybe they coded the perfect plugin and it needs no more work?

With the number of m4l crashes i have i sincerely hope not, im pretty much unable to have two device sopen to copy code between them....
And the lack of documentation is pretty woeful, given the hours people have put into it....

I installed Live 8.1.3b1 and Live still crashed whilst using Kore 2 controller, however this problem is now appears to be fixed by deleting my preference file. On windows 7 ...
C:\Users\<you user id>\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.1.3b1\Preferences\Preferences.cfg

I really hope they get it sorted soon. My processor seems to be spiking out when nothing is playing; thats a pretty big bug for a piece of professional software and something that should have been sorted out in the testing phase. I've heard its a bug that Ableton are going to be fixing in 8.1.3. But, by the sounds of things; dosen't seem too promising.
