Rack solution?

Post by 8O » Sat Apr 24, 2010 9:02 pm

Hi,

Dunno if this belongs here or in The Lounge, anyway...

Looking for some recommendations for a 19" rack solution to save some desk space. Need to rack mount 1U + 3U units, max depth only 10-12 cm or so, including the cables sticking out the back. Something like this...

Image

...but I remember reading in another thread something about K&M not being so sturdy, and the feet are about twice as deep as I need...

Any other suggestions, recommendations, DIY solutions?

i don't know if you refer to me, because i posted about the laptop tripod stand from K&M that is terribly wonky, the mic stands are ace, for example...

therefor the rack mount units can be OK as well, it was a surprise about the laptop stand, because K&M is otherwise quality stuff,

maybe a custom solution... because of the depth you need, try easy pack in berlin, tempelhof... they make flight cases and the like.

^^^ if you are not located in berlin or do not need a local producer, amptown cases in hamburg is much better, then easypac, even easy is alright for smaller stuff and some single units, but if you need real serious cases / racks... amptown is the way to go (amptown is better in re-ordering something you had custom made once, they have a tighter quality control and you will receive even years later exact the same case you got once custom made to the millimetre)... they have an outlet in england as well, and are the top pro manufacturer of flight cases / racks in europe.
