Chain selector is so ugly its sad...

Post by Ben_Binary » Sat Dec 18, 2010 10:32 am

I cant understand why the chain selector in ableton is implemented in such an ugly way.
gotta be some easy wayto have the chains show up in the clip like drumrack pads do in clips !!!

And it doesnt work properly :(

Apart from the implementation being UGLY ... it jumps to a new chained sample and just doesnt play it!

Also had problems with adding to chains and automation ammount or parameters not updating to allow selecting the new chains...

The more I use ableton the more it just doesnt appear to work.
Its amazing for sound design but finishing tracks is often very tricky dicky.

Im in Sydney so come on round and you can eat those words on camera.

BTW .... i deleted the rack and built it again so it works now... but the adding to chains not updating is still a bug. thug.

Its weird because moving it up the chain made it work.
Not sure if its just moving it that fixed the bug or moving it to the particular position but it works now
so if you have the same issue ... theres a fix :-) ... i hope it werks everytime.

every other Prius ever made lives in SF. I bicycle almost daily these days, most run ins with cars involve Prius. f-ing a-holes. one literally chased me through SOMA trying to run me down.

your bug is pretty cool, please report it. chain selector is ugly? try doing an entire session in Arrange view, I can't do it. dunno, been staring at Live for so many years now it's just Live, ugly or not I'm just used to it. I'd love for them to freshen the look up at bit.

report your bug, that's crazy.

Yeah I know I should report these types of bugs.

Its just that I usually like to get paid for my work as a QA software analyst :|
I know that attitude aint cool but ableton are not asked to work for free so why should I?

Anyway. your suggestion is cool. will do.

+

I always found SF to be full of the best and worst types ... including Prius owners.
As a pedestrian in SF i would just kick and punch the cars that didnt stop at crossings!
and they were always expensive ones...
But I stopped that when I moved to Oakland 8O
