Simpler vs Sampler

Post by Wallace » Tue Aug 26, 2008 2:26 pm

Hi,

I've been using Simpler as a sampler a lot in the last year and I'm quite satisfied, especially with racks.
Now I was considering about buying Sampler: can someone tell me some really interesting advantages of Sampler over Simpler ?

I've used the demo version and I know Sampler feature, but I'd like to know why some people bought Sampler.

Thank you

Purely for multi-sample playback.

well Sampler is a multi-sampler.... and its far more featured than simpler... It has some waveshape, fm and am capabilities. Quite a few and good modulation options, more extensive envelopes...

this sort of thing....

I know there have been quite a few Kontakt vs Sampler threads, in that fight, kontakt really does win.

BUT, if you are looking for a sampler to do you own sound designing with, you will have far better luck with Sampler than Simpler....

Simpler is a really basic sampler, and Sampler is absolutely a sampler. Its not just the bone, but the full steak...
too many lasers...

I use it 90% as a multi-sample playback (mainly soundfonts) and 10% to playback samples I made. (Serious Multi-Sampling requires time which I do not have..)
