do you know the instant map cc#'s for ableton?

Post by mazmith » Thu Dec 04, 2008 5:11 am

i am trying to use the global instant midi controls w/ an axiom 49 and it won't give me the option to dump (i've seen this with other controllers as well). i need to know what ableton,s preset instant control cc# and channel #'s for the track volumes 1-8, instrument rack knobs 1-8, and for the global loop, stop, start, and record. if someone knows where i can find this, you are making my life ALOT easier. thank you. Maz.

Hi Maz,

there should be no problem dumping the settings, but you have to use the classic Axiom script. Please download and install the Axiom tutorial, it will take you through the setup:

http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... torial.zip

There are no fixed CCs for the controls you mentioned, it´s working the other way round: if you are using a controller that is not included in the Control Surfaces list, you can write a little user remote script for the device (not necessary with the Axiom though): to do this, you simply write the CCs your controller is sending out into the user remote script. Please have a look at the documents in the folder "user remote scripts" in Live´s preferences folder for further infos.

Best,

along these lines,
i am wondering if there is a reference for what midi information all of the live instruments receive?
i would like to know what the midi specs are for these... i'm pretty sure that they are not just straight CC values; most likely all sysex.

thanks for any help,
jml
