8.09 routing to another track stopped working after sleep

Post by taximouse » Mon Dec 14, 2009 4:27 am

I went to dinner and the computer slept for 1 hour.
When I went back to work, I was mystified as to why I couldn't hear half the tracks in my set playing.
The tracks that were not playing were all routed to another track called "Verb".
"Verb" was not showing any input at all, however nothing had changed in the configuration: monitoring set to IN, Speaker On, Volume up, etc

Wigged out, I decided to shut down Live and re-open the set.

I did this, and the routed tracks now play through the track "Verb" just fine.

this just happened to me again in 8.1.1 except this time i didn't put the computer to sleep...

i moved a clip from one track to another, then solo'd it to listen a few times. when i unsolo'd suddenly 10 other tracks that are routed to another track stopped playing.

nothing was playing through the destination track. volume meter shows nothing.

quit and restart Live - everything fine.

What's on the verb track? Is it a VST or the Live reverb unit?

That may be your issue. I will turn on sleep (which I generally don't do) and see if I get the same issue with Live processors. I don't use free VST or AU stuff as they are buggy. If it is a reputable plugin product, there should't be a problem.

Meanwhile check here if you AU is listed

I beg to differ that the Apple AU plugins are buggy ;-)
