Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1
One of our recent sets has started giving us the Invalid Product ID, and will not open at all.
Is there a way to fix this? I thought that the beta versions got rid of this issue....

Re: Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1
Hello.
I have just encountered this exact same problem (live 8.1).
My live set was working perfectly yesterday but now wont open. I need to get to it fast. Why has this happened?
I have never installed or used any Beta versions.
Please let me know asap,
Thanks
Hugh

Re: Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1
Please can someone help?
you know when you get on a real roll with a track and you workflow is really productive...
then a software problem prevents you from continuing... frustrating to say the least (especially after having just shelled out a large amount of cash for Live8 and M4L)
please please help me.

Re: Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1
Same story. I sent my .als file to ableton support and received back a "fixed" version. This file I received back was 10 times larger. It did work, but not as supposed: it put Live into Demo mode with an anouncement that OPERATOR is missing on track 7. Well, I never used Operator, only some of the plugins and presets that come with live and that i'm licensed to use. Also, one of my live recordings was missing in the set (but still present on my harddrive)
Here is my reply by email to ableton. I'm waiting for reply.
Again in reply. I'm not aware that operator was included in any of my tracks. In short I dont use operator, never have. The file I sent you was of a size around 400kb and in return i received around 5 Mb??? What made the file this large?
I only added some of the plugins that come with live and that, as far as I know, i am licended to use. I used:
track 6: Drum Rack/Kit/Kit-808 + Drum Processing/Brooklyn Compression + Performance & DJ/DnB Rack
track 7: Drum Rack/Kit/Kit-Carbon + erformance & DJ/ Beat Repeat Madness 2
Track 1-5 are audio tracks
SO where does the Operator come in?????? No where!
Question is: what happened here? Why do you think I use Operator?
As it is, the file you sent me back can not be safed. Live goes in demo mode. Also: On track 5 is empty. This is a live recorded track - input mic. The recording is located on my hardrive-it is not lost. I can import it and everything sounds as should, BUT I can not safe the file because LIVE is in demo mode.
Please help me out here.
I tried to load the rum Rack/Kit/Kit-808 into earlier version of LIve just now, but get the same message: Operator is missing/not valid.
What's going on?

Re: Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1
Following up on my previous message:
I authorized my live version with your 30-day limited suit-version. This seems to work well. The "fixed" version of the set opens and saves without problems. Also Live does not open in demo mode anymore, as it did before, but opens in normal mode.
Still, the original version of the set, before it was fixed, does not open.
Question is: are there in the latest download version of live 8.1 plugin-ins included that require licenses for instruments that should not by default be included+ Do these instruments work for a day or so and then quit? Or what?
Or is here something else going on?
For clarity: I dont own the suit version of Live, just the default version that does not include operator. And I also did not buy operator separately. So why did the need for operator introduce itself in my set?

Re: Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1/ SOLUTION?
Update on my problem:
Included in the set was a audio effect rack that included Operator. Since this preset is obviously not part of Live 8.1 default version (not suit version), I cant think of anything else then that the updated Live 8.1 somehow used the library of the Beta live version(with ML) that I tested last week.
I updated/relocated and repaired the library. I also removed the Beta version libraries from harddisk. After done this, these preset kits (that include f.e. operator) have disappeared from the live devices window.
With the help of a 30-day license for suited version of Live, I was able of opening the fixed version of my set, remove the effect racks that included Operator and save the set.
I can now open this set without problems in normal version of Live 8.1
I am not sure if this explanation is valid, but I consider this case closed.

Re: Invalid Product ID on Live 8.1
Bloody hell!
Dead line at 12 pm tonight. Invalid product ID.
Can't open the .als file and can therefore not render the song.
Never had this problem before.
I am rather stressed and slightly angry......
