Problem with MIDI and KEY MAPPING

In 8.1 and 8.11, when I try to assign Key or MIDI mappings, the Mapping Browser panel does not appear and the Control Mapping Browser icon (circle) on the left doesn't appear. I can assign mappings okay.

However, the problem is that I cannot see the list of mappings and then, when I come out of the Mapping Mode, one of the other circular shortcut 'browser' icons on the left disappears. If I go into and out of Key or MIDI Mapping mode 5 or 6 times, all of the shortcut icons are gone and Live crashes.

This doesn't happen in 8.05. A quick search didn't bring up anyone else mentioning it. I'm not sure how to file a formal bug report.
