Live crashes when selecting 'Group' as audio output on an ungrouped channel.
This selection should not be possible, but it is and has been since group tracks were possible.
You can change the inputs and outputs of channels with a midi controller.
When you're in I/O change mode and you have Output selected, the controller 'scrolls' through the options in the dropdownlist.
If you do this on an ungrouped audio channel you cannot help but select 'Group' as the output as you scroll through the options.
This crashes Live.
I use a BCR200 in Mackie mode to control Live and here's my sequence of events:
Send the following midi data to enter I/O Change mode as well as to select what is being controlled (input, pre/post mix, output, output 'channel'): 90 28 7F
I press this 3 times to get to control audio output.
Then to 'scroll' the dropdownlist, you press B0 XX 01 where XX is between 0x10 and 0x17 for 1 of 8 channels.
So for channel 1 it would be B0 10 01 and for channel 8, B0 17 01
You go from 'Master' to 'Group'.
When selecting with the mouse, the 'Group' option is greyed out, but the midi selection doesn't seem to 'see' that.
There is of course a workaround:
You group the audio channel, then modify its I/O and then ungroup the channel again. This can also be done through midi (translator).
I haven't seen this reported, maybe because not many people use this funtionality, though I find it invaluable. This behaviour however, does seems to be a bug.
Because of the workaround, I don't require any support. I am just mentioning this to hopefully help improve application.
If this issue already been reported somewhere else or in case I should have posted it somewhere else, I apologize.

Hi.
Thanks for fixing this bug.
Related to this functionality however, it seems a new one has crept in. Or maybe it's a feature...
Again, trying to change I/O values through the BCR in mackie mode.
Doing the same thing as described above, now trying to change the midi input options, there is quirky behavior that was not present in Live 8.1.1:
It is now NOT possible to use midi to change the value of the midi input options (device and channel), until the mouse is used to select a non-default value first. After that, midi control can take over again.
This seems to happen for midi input only. Midi Out as well as Audio In and Out are working just fine.
You'd want to be able to use midi control exclusively in order to change the midi input device and channel.
If you have to use the mouse first, then the usefulness of this midi control functionality gets lost somewhat.
Also, usually, the values of the I/O dropdowns are sent to midi out so they can be displayed (in huskervu).
That does not happen as long as midi has no control over the values. (Usually you would see 'Allchn' for 'All Channels', but now nothing is displayed).
Maybe I should start a new post for this issue. I'll let it depend on the response this gets.
Thanks,
Alex
