You cant drag and drop clips from one instance to another, you cant even copy and paste.

If i have an idea that i did in another project I would like to be able to duplicate the channel, clips, automation and effects between sets.

Mabey im missing something but this feature is much needed.

just drag a clip or clips into the live browser to save then drag into the other instance from its browser.

ok,

1. open up live, load a vst, write some notes, add automation and effects

2. open up another instance of live, try to copy the Chanel(or anything) over by dragging/copy and pasting

3. post again :)

@ timr: you need to calibrate your sarcasm detector

@ OP: you need to calibrate your reading skills:

DRAG THE CLIP INTO THE BROWSER IN THE FIRST INSTANCE.....

DRAG THE CLIP OUT OF THE BROWSER IN THE SECOND INSTANCE....

I just tested it and it works no problem

Another way is to drag the Ableton Project file from the browser into the new project. All tracks, clips and automation is then imported into the new project. You can take what you need from tracks and simply delete the rest.

LOL

But yes you ought to read more carefully as someone already offered you a solution but you kind of ignored it.

Forget the 2 instances of Live all you need is one with the above listed techniques.

Hope this helps you.
