Clips for Send Channels (Modulating Send FX)

I wish to do some modulation of my send FX but you cant have clips for send channels.

Yes of course you can automate them as normal but it would be great to have clips too.
That way if there are things you do quite a lot in tracks you can save them for another time.

Here's a workaround: use Dummy Clips.

Complex to explain in words but hopefully the pic makes it easy.

Instead of putting your "send FX" in a Return Track, Put them in an audio track and have the Return Track's output routed thru this audio track (track 2 in pic below). In track 2 you can have Dummy Clips modulating the Effects which are inserted on Track 2. In the below pic there is an Autofilter inserted in Track 2 and it's cutoff is being modulated by the Dummy Clip in Track 2. Audio comes from Track 1 (or wherever), is sent to the "Return Track", output of the "Return Track" goes thru Track 2 containing the modulated FX.

Hi there, yeah I'm with you thanks for your help there! I shall do this right away.

Although not the perfect way of doing things as it means extra tracks and more clutter, at least its possible.

Still wish to see this added Ableton.

Hmmm I tried it this way and I am getting a track delay.

My SEND channel is set to route to an FX BUS track and that is set to monitor in like you have shown me.

My problem is my FX BUS track has a considerable delay on it.

Now I do have Automatic Delay compensation switched on because I have a Access Virus TI in my set-up and have a TC Electronic Konnekt 48 Firewire Audio Interface as I use an Apple Mac.

I have also tried experimenting with various track delay / pre delay timings but still have no luck in sorting this out.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ok I retract my previous statement for some unknown reason that particular Ableton Project had this problem but others didn't
