groove quantise : grid overlay and undo groove

1. I would really like an quantise grid (like a 1/16 grid and so on) that shows the selected groove and which is "magnetic" like the normal grid.

Here is just a bad sketch, but I guess you know what I mean after this (don't wonder, this is still live 7, I only have the live 8 demo at the moment for playing around and testing. still saving for the update ):






2. It would be so handy if you could undo an applied groove. Maybe it's an idea to give the "Amount" a greater range like "-130%-130%" (it's 0%-130% at the moment). So you could just invert the groove (apply 100% groove and then -100% groove to undo it).

ehmm... 0% is NO GROOVE.. or am I missing something...

groove applies better when it's quantized..
but no worries... put your groove 'quantize' bar to a high %...
and it will quantize your midi on the fly... before applying the groove...

I do agree that each grooves controls should all be automatable..
(not just the global groove ammount...)

yeah 0% is no groove.

- But with a negative amount of groove you could "pre-draw" a groove (as far as I remember a MPC has 50% for groove 0% - a groove<50% is in front of the grid, >50% after)
- You could undo a groove later. example: you have applied a groove with 100% -> apply it again with -100% and it's gone.
- Creative stuff like inverting a groove (-100%)


But a additional grid which shows the groove as an overlay is so handy (I love to work that way in cubase and sam, it's just a pleasure to work with a groove grid instead of the standard 1/16 grind sometimes).

And in addition to that, please a length parameter for notes.

I'm surprised that this feature don't get more +1 or at least views.

..if your beat is on the grid.. the groove shouldn't be too far off anyways..
and you hear it when it's applied...
(so you can tell if whether each beat is going forward or back)
...I don't see any real merit in this.. only more clutter.

the inability to map the 'quantize'/'timing' /'random' /'Velocity'
of each groove to midi is a the biggest drawback in L8..
a serious issue.. look.. but don't touch...
(unless you're using the mouse)
I resort to making many clips.. each with a different groove..
(which is basically the same groove with a bit more groove...some changes to the 'random'..)
where I could have used 1 groove and tweak it
that.. .and the crashes.. make me mad
