Randomizer and Parameter LFO download

Post by db » Fri Oct 02, 2009 8:17 pm

Hi, here are 2 Max For Live patches to download:

http://www.extendlive.com/?p=155

I haven't touched these in a while and there are numerous problems that need to be fixed. I keep getting emails about the Randomizer patch and how it deals with the varying number of parameters in Live devices. Feel free to dig in and find out.

Enjoy.

Thank you!
They're both great, only thing, if i use the randomizers with instrument/audio racks, i don't get any audio from the devices. With instruments/effects everything is fine.

Are you placing the Randomizer inside the Rack? As far as I know, the Live API does not reach inside Rack chains. Placing Randomizer inside a Rack essentially breaks it. At least that was the case last time I tested it.

no i just place it before the rack to randomize the 8 values mapped. Should it work in this way?
When i hit randomize it changes the values of the rack, but i can't get any audio out of it.
If i reset the randomize to 0 then i get audio.
I will check it again later when i get home.

The Randomizer most likely changes the Chain Selector value. Open the Rack's chain list, click on [Chain] and make sure the chain zone is spread over the entire range.

yeah you're right! It was just the chain selector. Problem solved ;)

I've programmed some crazy sounds for Tension. Sounds that have a life on their own. But doing it manually was a lot of trial and error to say the least. With your nifty randomizer, I got what is one of the craziest sounds to come out of tension.

It kinda sounds like a jackhammer, a drill, a woodpecker and a voltage controlled oscillator making sweet lovin to each other :D

This clip just has a 16th note playing once. But the sound keeps on going.
