Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
Is there any good random pattern generator available for push3s? Features like mapping capability, selective note turn off/on and some form of visual support would be perfect.

No, we are waiting for some kind of Midi Tools for the Push 3 Standalone. That would make the Standalone even more Standalone....

That looks good. Are there any clips of someone using it on Push 3 standalone? Is a lot to spend on something that might not be what is needed.

Re: Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
I've got it working standalone but I'm not currently setup for making clips. If I find any i'll post them here. It works and it seems like everything is tweakable on standalone but it's easier to setup on computer and then transfer to get the best results as it's very deep with stacks of pages.ezilybored wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 10:30 amThat looks good. Ah ok cool. I’ll take someone reporting that it works as the next best thing. Thanks for the heads up
Re: Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
Did some investigation and came to the following options:
Mddsnake: https://maxforlive.com/library/device/4771/mdd-snake ... free and close to perfect ... only the range selector is missing ... would be great if anyone who understands how to program m4l can map the range selector to 2 knobs ...
And there is Polymath from Seeds: https://www.novelmusic.org/m4l/seeds ... you have to buy the whole stack of tools for 70 euro ... maybe someone can provide some feedback wether its good value for the price.
It's such a burden that we don't have a roadmap of what we can expect from Ableton ...

Edit-
Mddsnake --- as the missing range selector is missing, just set the range to full and add a pitch device with fold mode afterwards ... gives you the required flexibility ... and now we have at least something to work on

Does this work - should be a Min and Max Range control on the Main/first page?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qgu0nj ... sp=sharing
(p.s. Don't have time to test it but just did some quite fiddling in Max)
Re: Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
@Fabolous! Two new buttons - those work as range selector for velocity though ... if you can add another two for note range that would be perfect ... highly appreciated!secretkillerofnames wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 2:23 amDoes this work - should be a Min and Max Range control on the Main/first page?

Re: Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
Understandable as I was just guessing which range selector was for Note. Try this version.

Re: Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
I was not able to login to the forum recently, so sorry for the late reply. Just to let you know that this did the trick. Amazing. Thanks for the effort you were putting into this!secretkillerofnames wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 9:56 pmUnderstandable as I was just guessing which range selector was for Note. Try this version.

Re: Random Pattern Generator for Push3S
Why not use the built in capabilities? I’m using a dedicated midi-track for midi creation and feed its output via input/output to any desired track with instruments on it. On the feeding track you can have visual feedback from the grid and from the display in clip view if you input some notes into a clip. You can then modify the clip input by midifx as noteecho, random, velocity etc.
on the receiving track you can record the modified midi information in a new clip. Then again you have visual feedback. And you can further edit the notes in clip view with ongoing visual feedback. This setup gives you controlled randomness and if you use ‘deviate’ from novelmusic you can even lock the random output on the fly without recording it.
