I use renoise since 3 months in my composition setup.

Now I can manage the software well, its not the most easy soft to learn on earth I admit but working with renoise and live together give awesome results.

Renoise keeps surprising me each time I load a loop in and start messing with pattern effect on.

This thing can build awesome breaks in 2 minuts.

I hope renoise will be able to run as a rewire slave soon.

is there a lot of renoise users around ?

:)

Yeah I have just started using it although I have had it for sometime. Its fantastic software its just that when I do library music I feel I should use Logic as it seems to have the right sound as many other composers use it. As I am really fast with both Ableton and Logic, I usually want to finish tracks quite quickly, but I want to finish a track entirely with Renoise. I may start using it to process and create loops though.

Renoise dabbler present ... sir
Yeah just experiments at the moment although I did manage to mess up breaks very quickly using that program...so for that I can see why its so popular.
Waiting for the new version too, and rewire would be a great addition and is going to happen, I just don't know when.
Thank you please,
d.

This "messing up breaks" sounds interesting - can someone elaborate a little?

Here you go Patch http://www.renoise.com/download.php
Basically like I said I'm just a dabbler no expert, but if you load a break into the program and then use the sequencer, you'll see what I mean. Just step, trigger, layer another brk, pitch up / down. Put some of your own breaks into it and fuc* about see if you like the results.
It does take a little getting used to but once it clicks ... I dunno though, see if its for you.
Just another tool that forces you to work differently with sometimes interesting results. Forum has a load of info check it. :)

I went to renoise cause I saw Aaron Funk using it, there is a video of the song vache from venetian snares on youtube played by renoise.

The fact is renoise allow you to totally control every sound aspect of your loops at each step. ( pitch, offset, retrig, arpeg, ect) so it leads to crazy rolls and pretty precise stretch.

you can also do more when you use it with a soft like max, pure data or bidule to control it via midi. Like live, near everything is midi remotable.

Its also a powerful midi sequencing tool and the wiki online is well builded so digging in still fun.

A really good ableton companion :)
