Setting the default warp mode to Complex Pro in preferences seems to be causing a number of problems.
The main issue is that when loading a song Live incorrectly identifies it as a REX file, this happened to me with an Apple Lossless file though someone else reported the same issue with MP3's.
There seems to be some other problems related to this, whilst default is set to Pro and after changing it from Pro to Complex. I've had Live hang with high cpu usage and songs not loading correctly (they show as empty clips).
I've created and emailed in 3 bug snapshots / crash reports. The first two were created after force quitting Live and the third whilst Live was running (after songs had been loaded with default of Pro and show as REX).

I'm having the exact same problem all of a sudden. I think it has something to do with the fact that I changed the default warp mode to complex pro. Even now when I've changed it back to complex I'm getting the exact same problems described by jonny72 above. I have auto-warp long samples set to on. Is this a known issue?

I just posted a bug yesterday about having default mode as complex pro screwing up the samples. This was my exact problem as well. It also explains why the warp option is greyed out in the sample view.
