drop in an instrument
drop in a pitch plug in front of it
record a midi clip
have it playing...
want to change instrument...
drop it in, pitch plug can disappear.

but doesn't happen all the time. ?

Hi,

I'll move the thread away as there is technically no bug, and because this is also in Live 7. We may change it in the future though.

Indeed, dragging an instrument or a Racks to a track header, or, double clicking the instrument in the Browser, would replace the whole chain of devices. If you want to only replace the instrument, you've got to drag it over the existing instrument, or where the instrument should be if there is none yet.
