Finally we are starting to see more MIDI news for the iPad.

No confirmation on clock sync support yet for the iMS20.

Without sync, it's just a big 'meh'.

Got the camera connection kit and an M-Audio MIDI Uno USB-to-MIDI adaptor.

So far there's no problem in sending MIDI to various apps. Notes, CCs, etc.

But I cannot, for the FUCKING LIFE OF ME, send one goddamn MIDI message from an iPad app and have it recognized by Live.

Further, upon cracking open the free MIDI utility for the Mac, no messages are getting through on the Input side, but plenty are going out.

Further, there's a free MIDI utility monitor app for the iPad and that's showing both input and output on the Uno as being connected.

Has anyone gotten the Uno to work?

Has anyone gotten ANY USB-to-MIDI adaptor to work with the Cam Conn Kit?

The iConnectMIDI thing looks cool, but it still doesn't solve audio routing.

Here's to a dedicated iDevice interface that combines plenty of data ports AND audio I/O. And keep it smallish, lol. The StudioDock is almost there...

A good update for Control (OSC + MIDI), a versatile and free controller:

* Now includes Monome Emulation interface
* All OSC and MIDI messages received by Control are now passed into JavaScript. You can define custom functions to handle these messages in interface files.
* Added a backgroundColor parameter to all widgets.
* Added convenience methods for sending MIDI and OSC messages from JavaScript
* Added label parameter for Buttons and MultiButtons to automatically create labels without the need for an extra widget
* You can now specify what port Control receives OSC messages on

FYI, the Monome emulator included in Control in 1.2 has a pretty big bug... the rows and columns are mixed up. Luckily, all the monome interaction was scripted in the interface file itself, so you can just download a corrected interface:

There's also a monome 128 emulator available in the same directory:

MSA Remote - a remote control application for iPhone & iPod Touch that sends OSC messages over the wifi network. This allows you to control any OSC supporting applications such as Max/MSP/Jitter, PureData, Reaktor, VDMX, vvvv, Resolume, Quartz Composer etc.

Yeah, just found that yesterday when I was finally able to dive in a bit deeper to the app. We are halfway there! Just need Out and Sync. :P
