I'm more excited about ClyphX than I was about M4L. Seems very elegant, should had been implemented Live itself (which, of course, it kind of was/is). I'm really looking forward to get experimenting, have some ideas. As soon as I come back from Rome.

Yes, if it was an actual feature I could see these "commands" being set on ANY clip within Live, so that you don't need the extra track and everything else- but for now it's amazing to work with..

A lot of people here would like you to do so also. Why don't you apply?
I don’t meet any of their requirements yet, but I’m working on that (basically building experience and studying the involved languages).
So I am on 8.1.4....will this not work with that version?
I’m not sure on this honestly as the oldest version I have here is 8.1.5. I can tell that ClyphX won’t work with 8.1.3. If possible, please give it a try with 8.1.4 and let me know how you make out. You can determine if it will work by downloading ClyphX with the example set. Set everything up, load the example set and try muting/unmuting the ClyphX track. You should see the track’s name change when you do that. If you do, then you’re golden.

FWIW, the framework to do this is already in place. However, when using actions across multiple tracks, there is a delay between the processing of the actions on each track that I can’t find a way to get rid of. I haven’t given up on that yet though.

Agreed, I am thinking RemoteScripts are the way forward, leaving M4L a bit lack luster.

this.. is friggin' great !!!

I have only 3 suggestions/requests...

1. make it work on more than 1 dedicated track..
it'll make all the difference for use with Launchpad/apc

2. better support for devices
.. access to all the banks and devices available to Lives' automapping feature

3.arrangement view support

this is amazing work ! and works great !
thank you very much for sharing this...
I'll be using it a lot..

Good to hear you guys are finding ClyphX useful.
so could i use this for cue points?
Depends a bit on what you’re looking to do with cue points, but ClyphX does include actions for jumping to arrangement locators and also actions for jumping to cue points in clips.

I agree and this is being worked on.
2. better support for devices
.. access to all the banks and devices available to Lives' automapping feature
You mean something like ‘SEL/DEV B2 P3 64’, which would set the 3rd parameter of the 2nd bank of the selected device to 64? That could probably be done, I’ll look into that.

Accessing any parameter of any device by its name is something I’d like to add, but I haven’t found a good way to do it yet as the names the API uses aren’t the same as what a device’s GUI reflects. I’m open to ideas on this if anyone has some.
3.arrangement view support
What sort of support?

Thanks for the suggestions.

i did not try ClyphX, but it seems like it could potentially change my life. Is it totally reliable in a live situation ?

yeah...
2. 1/DEV2 B2 P3...exactly like that (that is.. if you can't use param names)...
I'll help you out in documenting Live's device param order if you need...

3. what I meant is to have the clyphx track work in arrangement view

..I'll probably have more suggestions when I'm using it more that 2 days...
