Is is possible to set different time signatures for different bars in Live?

This would be an invaluable feature for me, and render Live the most fantastic thing ever invented.

Also... I want use MIDI to play the Reaktor VST plugin as an instrument. Is this possible? MIDI Thru or something?

I write a lot of material which changes key signature thoughout a song/piece.

It would be good to be able to 'trigger' time signature changes when scenes are triggered.

I do a lot of stuff where there simply is no time signature at all.

But I guess when I do use a time signature, it's always 4/4.

Mmmm... I'm worried that the poll could quickly dissuade Ableton from implementing my desired feature. Therefore, I posit the theory that it is because most sequencers force the user to stick with one time-signature (or make it impossibly awkward to change) that most people have not tried it.

I think we could freshen up the music scene in exciting ways if we were given the facility to do this (or I could just be crazy...)

Think about those times where you're in a club and the beat drops out. So often you are left with rather wishy-washy pad sounds or a beatless 4/4 rhythm that leaves you (or me) undecided about what to do with your body. Those bits could be making you smile in different ways, and render the experience an awful lot more crunchy. It's a whole different kind of tension!

Blah blah blah... sorry. I's gonna do it if y'all ain't, whateverhow!

The last century's composers tried to "escape the tyranny of the bar line", ie did not want to be locked into a system where one beat/ time measure was more important than the other, some of the ways that they got around this was by using time signatures that changed a fair bit, even if it meant an extra 1/4 note here and there.

This is not new in pop btw, even the beatles wrote like this on occasion, eg had a 5/4 bar in the middle of 4/4.

Most time signatures can "rock"/ be danceable if required.

I write quite a lot like this,

here is a little excerpt from a tune of mine called giving time,

www.songcarver.mac.com/sites/giving_time.mp3

it moves from 3/4 to 4/4 to 9/8 and 9/4 and combinations of above.

The excerpt is a 9/4 section which is going into 4/4

I find it difficult to work this way currently in LIVE.
