how to sweep a control down then up with the same midi cc?

Hi, I own Max for Live and am looking for the best way to accomplish this so I can create a custom mapping for a plugin with a clunky interface (PSP NobleQ). I need to use the first half of the CC (0-62) to sweep the control from max to minimum, then the second half of the CC range (64-127) to sweep...

I imagine you could at least build a synth that outputs both sound and video animation. That's one of the things I've always wanted to do.

The VCM really only matches one thing on my list, the faders. It's one of the best yet but it's really just a virtual DJ mixer formatted for Live. There are a lot more possibilities than that. When I was DJing with Live I preferred to use a real mixer for those tasks and save MIDI controllers for mo...

For the price of a Lemur you can buy 13 iPod touches. That's just insane. I own a Lemur. I love it, but I bought it a couple of years ago when there was nothing else out there. Now everyone's doing multitouch work. Check out all this stuff: http://createdigitalmusic.com/tag/multi-touch/ I have a fee...

I think there's a fundamental difference between an instrument controller and a workstation controller. Instrument controllers have been developing since before Live was even invented. But workstation controllers are stuck in a very old paradigm & haven't updated to be comprehensive and performa...

When you get it programmed right, it's one of the top 5 Live controllers ever. It sped up my track warping X2 or X3.

They need to get this Serato thing working.

How long since they showed the DJs any love?

Get ControllerMate. It's $15, takes about an hour to learn and a couple more to program, and controls the n52 better than Belkin's software did. You can control the LEDs & everything.

Talking about that modular synth-type housing for the supercontroller got me thinking about Simian Mobile Disco's stage rig:

Who knows, maybe even Henke and Suckow would be interested in getting involved in the design a little.

six_o_clock_crow, we were typing at the same time. Funny you talk about how many controls you'd need. I actually was near running out of memory on the Lemur from using too many things. A modular approach to the design would be a good idea. People who didn't want to go too crazy could build one oscil...

Google Sketchup, Arduino, the Doepfer boards, and the midibox together make it easier than ever to customize hardware. Meanwhile, the laws of economics make it seem foolish for the Abes to get in the hardware business. Sure, most people can't agree about what hardware they want, but more of us use O...

Just thought I'd give this one a bump.

If you can get to NYC to pick it up I'd be happy to give you the full tour of all the custom tricks in the mapping and software setup.

Make the Serato collaboration work with their video plugin

Serato figured out a reliable way to get a real DJ experience from 2 video streams, even when the source files are the heavily compressed kind that Live doesn't natively support and most VJ software can't handle (I use 3K h.264 video/320 AAC audio). This is the reason I chose Serato after years of D...
