Re: Have reviewed other songs! Hope you will review my new song

Wow, that is more like time travel! It took me right back to 1985! It sounds like New Order, Pet Shop Boys, and Men Without Hats all rolled into one tight little song. The only thing missing is the midget! :D Thanks :), I think the midget is busy flying the time machine  The song does cross-ge...

Re: What soundcard to use with Ableton?

I use an old card; Edirol FA-66 firewire, (PC: XP.32, Quad Q6600, 2.Gig-Ram). The FA-66 has superb solid drivers; no issues at all and round trip latency is hardly noticeable. I start off using Ableton 'Live' then mixdown using another DAW, sometimes my mixes would consist of up to 50 tracks with a ...

Have reviewed other songs! Hope you will review my new song

Stars Above (Fusion of Progressive-House + Pop-Rock) What an epic! Lot of hours, a 'labor of love' went into producing this track. This started out as an experimental composition, with intention to compose a futuristic theme/vibe, a love story set in the future of space travel. To create the feelin...

Re: Have a Listen!

Hi Terrence Thanks for the compliment :-) I do try and get it right and know I need to do better and consistent with it. I've been busy; last week my wife and I was featured in a magazine and newspaper, although it does give-away my location (I live in a small county/city). I've been busy working on...

Re: Computer Maintenance --> How Often You Do It.?

The main reason why I degrag is because all my .wav audio files are large not so much in Ableton Live but much more in my other rec software, one track file alone is very large > times (x) that by about 40+ multiple tracks (per song) and the sum becomes huge. That said; on normal use, creating, edit...

Computer Maintenance --> How Often You Do It.?

Computer Maintenance: How Often You Do It? . . . and what software(s) do you use / recommend? I'm bringing up this topic because I believe it's very important to keep your computer well maintained especially for music, video production since this can be very demanding on systems/resources and if th...

Re: New to the Ableton Family

Life is pretty cool, it does have it's moments, but overall entertaining! Thanks guys :-) Day three, threw everything at Live and she didn't glitch, she just sits there smiling back at me. I was having fun editing an audio track correcting slight timing issues using warp markers, I hear this 'wobbli...

Re: Ableton, take a look at the new Cubase 5

For a lot of producers Live doesn't even make their list. For others it's seen as a tool they use to come up with ideas before they dump it into another DAW and for others they see it as a tool for performing the tracks they made in another DAW. Very few use it for everything. Ain't that the truth....

Re: New to the Ableton Family

Thanks for all the welcomes! Good to be here. nuxnamon, Agree! That can happen, 'all' software is not 100% crash-proof but hopefully rarely with Live. So far on day two another solid six hours with no issues. In that crash dialog it seems to indicate a third-party plugin issue. With my older DAW I'v...

Re: First piece with the new Ableton Live Looper..

Other than the same loop played over what made this performance special was the evolving melody and your live performance skills which is great to see :-) Love the gradual build ups, the multi-instrumental performances-parts and then the gradual build-down to the end. Superb! Enjoyed listening and w...
