i agree with RobertX. i grew up in turlock/hilmar which is even worse, but left right after high school (for college, etc). i moved back recently, but it's only for a few months while i take care of some stuff. then it's back to the bay area or back to europe. i just started using live 5.2 not too ...

the minimal parties in berlin are the best. sooooo much fun and so many good artists. i hope the scene stays alive there at least.

i know that someone's favorite synths are always going to be specific to a person's taste and style; but i wonder if alot of you out there are using many of the same hardware and/or software synths to create sounds and produce tracks in the "minimal" genre, and even to perform them in conjunction ...

I'm out on the west coast and i'm a huge minimal fan. but the scene is pretty minimal (pun intended) up north in california it seems. the stuff going on in LA looks pretty cool, but i haven't gotten to check it out because i'm up north unfortunately.

i don't know how the scene is on the west coast ...

can anybody suggest a good controller for this setup (for studio and playing live?)
i was thinking the the bitstream 3x would probably be good, perhaps combined with a faderfox LX1 or 2

has anybody specifically worked with the roland S-760 before, that can recommend whether i should keep it as part of this setup to make minimal techno? i know it's supposed to be pretty powerful but complicated to work with...
