Re: Improvement to encoder banks for Live's native FX

Yes, that would be an even better solution. I respect Ableton's desire for design simplicity and avoiding the bloat that accompanies excessive DAW features, but even just an expansion of the user remote scripts to allow users to change bank assignments would suffice. However, I still think the 'out ...

Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!

Improvements to the implementation of encoder banks as used by automatically mapped devices like the APC40 and for those of us who use custom remote scripts. 1-EQ8 needs to be remapped so bank 1 is all the parameters for eq band 1 and so o, rather than splitting eq 1's para, eters across 8 different ...

Re: Improvement to encoder banks for Live's native FX

5- Another bank-related problem is that the 'Best of' bank doesn't seem to work at all (not on my APC40, nor my user remote script foe my Edirol PCR500). This means that most of the instrument devices (eg. Analog) lack a whole bank worth of encoders.

Re: Improvement to encoder banks for Live's native FX

Thought I'd give this thread a BUMP! It would be great if some Ableton staff saw this and would be able to have a look over the encoder mapping settings for the APC40 and user remote scripts etc in time for Ableton 9. I wouldn't imagine the changes would be hard to implement and they would make Able...

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

Sorry, disregard that last post - I didn't realise that there had been a fix done for 8.2.5 and this works fine with 8.2.6.

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

Has anyone else been having a problem using this script with 8.2.6? My faders don't seem to work any more, but everything else seems fine. I've checked for obvious things like: remote overide mappings, went back to 8.2.2 (works fine), checking with the default APC40 script (fine), checking with Midi...

Audio drop outs when simultaneously recording 15+ tracks

I'm surprised at the performance of my setup when recording audio: I'm about to embark on a project recording some live electronica using hardware synths, as opposed to my usual soft synths/samplers in Live approach. I thought I'd test the reliability of my setup for hard disk recording, since I don...

Re: Improvement to encoder banks for Live's native FX

I agree wholeheartedly!

C'mon Ableton, put in some feature to help us edit controller banks, or at least make some of the banks more logical, and utilise every device parameter (when possible).

Re: Improvement to encoder banks for Live's native FX

Also many devices (eg. EQ8) have on/off values poorly mapped, so that a tiny increment switches between the values, making them very fiddly to use. I think a basic 0-64/65-127 cutoff would work much better. The APC's great for removing much of the mouse work, but I feel some improvements to encoder ...

Improvement to encoder banks for Live's native FX

It's not really a big request, but it would make a difference... I feel that some of the standard encoder mapping (eg. when using the APC 40 or making on'es own custom remote script) are a bit silly. The big culprit here is the EQ 8: with bank 1 being on/off for all 8 bands , band 2 being frequency ...

Re: How do YOU layout the session grid for live performance?

Wow, there's certainly a lot to think about here, and I especially like your 'trigger' idea, that must come in handy when things get a bit too freaky. Dividing the FX between a 'dummy' track and the sends is an interesting approach too. So far I've really been using session view in a very vanilla wa...

My APC40 Hack (for use with Reason)

I've spent a while making this template for using the APC40 to control Reason's mixer, using Nico Wald's awesome free (mac) software Midipipe. It's a bit basic at present, but will come in handy if you have an APC40 and ever use Reason as a stand-alone program. To use this you'll need to download Mi...
