Re: Granulator II Pitch recall

I tried numerous times, but could never re-produce the problem. Live sets with 96k / 48 k / 41k and samples with 44.1k / 48k all played correctly in every possible combination. Can someone provide me with a step by step guide how to create a scenario that is reliably showing the problem? Please cont...

Re: Granulator II Pitch recall

Hi folks, Granulator should be able to deal with samples & Live sets of different sample rate and doing the correct interpolation. I will investigate if there is an obvious oversight in my code, if not it might be an issue only Cycling 74 and / or Ableton can solve. I added a note to my Granulat...

Re: Operator Love Thread

Spread was never intended to sound 'warm'. Spread uses two voices per note, one panned hard to the left and the other panned hard to the right. It also detunes these two voices. But this is just the most obvious effect. The more exciting things happen when random is involved: The left and right cha...

Re: Ableton's Formant/Vowel EQ presets

I made the presets, and if I remember correctly I took the frequencies from a chart published in this (fantastic!) book about computer generated sound: http://www.amazon.com/Computer-Music-Synthesis-Composition-Performance/dp/0028646827 however, you'll certainly find them in a lot of articles about ...

Re: Shepard's Tone with Samples

http://www.monolake.de/files_software/ShepardToneDownSamples.zip have fun, Robert to make it go upwards, simply reverse the entry in the Pitch Envelope Amount: -48st versus 48st. you might also want to play with the transposition of the Sample. And of course replace it by a more exciting one !!!! an...

Re: All this about sound quality

how comes that newboss and dbfs are fitting so perfectly well together in their ongoing mission against Live? and how comes that they both make similar grammar and spelling mistskes? i am not saying that they are both 3phase, i am just saying that it is getting harder and harder to proof that they a...

Re: a little test re: sound-quality

ok. err, not-ok. As many probably have guessed the recording is from Pink Floyd's "The Wall album". Either Robert is a very very good imitator of Roger Waters (voicewise) and was able to reproduce the exact sound of the recording (but I doubt he earns his money in a Floyd-cover-band), or ...

Re: a little test re: sound-quality

I honestly can't hear much of a difference that I can describe. Somehow I like the C-test-audio more then the other two. ( I used it also in my test projects...) Auditioning one sample in different DAW's is not where I hear a difference. I never wrote I hear one by listening to one sample. I also b...

Re: a little test re: sound-quality

How about an additional test, using two free VST-effects processing one audio file in two different DAW's ?(one is Live...obviously...) Audio file and two free VST-effects plus two, "extra for this test made", presets are inside the RAR. Also two projects ready to listen and the exported ...

Re: a little test re: sound-quality

I agree the difference is subtle. The question is: which ones do you like more / which versions sound 'better', and if so, what does 'better' mean....

of course not, they are not all identical.
the question is: which one sounds 'better' and why so ?

They're identical. Phase inversion nulls them completely.

But quality-wise it sounds great. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to say.
No, they are not identical bitwise. Please try downloading them again! And try again !
