Hi Mate
I'm in Derby, and work in Shef. I've used ableton for 4 or so years and have done some gigs using footcontroller, guitar & some other muso's.

Not done anything for a while, but left off last wanting to do some more experimental on the fly stuff. So I'm pretty keen on starting up again!

I ...

Where I come from we have a "music industry & production" school run by the council, they offer Btec and short courses. They're not particulartly good courses, and would no way "get you into" the industry.

What they do though is offer that choice to young people: shall I get an ASBO or do ...

"Get Schooled" - to become accredited?

Hi
I've just noticed a new (yet to be linked to) tidbit on the ableton website "get schooled" -
Was just wondering if anyone knows (ie the ableton crew) how one might get started being a tutor? I'm assuming that organisations will be offering ableton "accredited" courses, like some og the others I ...

Fixed the latency problem by going through the latency tutorial, although modified the instructions a bit after almost stuffing my speakers when it says plug out to in!

But I get little glitches here and there in my audio. Quite annoying really, it's not a buffer problem as I've increased that to ...

Thanks
I will try that..
I never have monitor on either as I always get that slapback. The soundcard, even tho it's cheap, has input monitoring anyway.

Recordings have a small delay

Switched over to an Alesis IO2 from MAudio USB Quattro, Now the stuff I record isn't in syc, there's a small delay. Which isn't good as I need to compensate by hand on every recording, and was just getting into looping live.
In preferences my buffers are as low as they'll go without the audio ...

heyup

There's no way of doing that, not having to wait while sets load, or having more than one set open at once.

If you've already got different sets for each song, I'd suggest making a new set, then using the browser to browse inside your sets and drag your samples into slots within this new set ...

I have a similar setup- I can use 4 aux sends to the soundcards 4 inputs. I also turn off input monitoring as i can already hear each instrument coming into the mixer.. Only fidly thing is matching the direct level with the recorded level..

Audio assets, unreferenced samples.. Daren't delete!

When closing sets, Live asks if you want to delete unreferenced samples, but there's no way of knowing which samples are to be deleted - you get the first few in the message dialogue only!

I've done it before, dropped a loop in, then later decided I didn't want it in that particular set, and ...

I guess just hearing answers like "start a c major scale on d, that's kinda like flamenco" are just absolutely incorrect, and in my opinion, the person seeking the answer, would like to know correct answers, not incorrect ones. Like when I ask a software question, I prefer a correct answer.

Dan, I found the hidden scene up/down/play buttons earlier this week, Magic! And I think I'll impliment your idea of having the first pedal of each bank to fire off the first scene of each section, gonna make it a whole lot easier!

I just fekkin love diminished chords! And am partial to the odd augmented note or two!

Was one of the first things i learned on guitar, after all (literally!) the chords, and is a peice of waz to understand on guitar as it's all shapes..
