Velocity & Volume strangeness in Simpler/Sampler
I could not find anything in the manual about the velocity curves and settings, so i thought i share my expierence with you. Below are the settings required to get a unity gain from Sampler on a velocity of 127: Velocity = Volume 0% = 0db 25% = -5.7db [-6db] 50% = -11.4db [-12db] 75% = -17.1db [-18d...

Re: What new devices would you like most?
Don't wish for devices, wish for features. Wish for deep implementations. Nice said, but sadly features cannot be described, packed and sold as easy as devices. Off Topic: Anybody wants to set up an Issue Tracking system to replace the "Feature Wishlist" Forum, oh and btw. force the product manager...

Re: option "StrictDelayCompensation" ??? what is that doing?
Does anybody know if this also applies to internal audio routing (e.g. bus style routing)? I still do not really understand how this "play-through" optimization works. In other words, you will only get the latency of your audio interface + the latency of the actual plugin device instead of the overa...

I assume you are from germany and speak german...

Re: a new version / beta please...
Scrum has nothing to do with quality or good software architecture. It has to do with managing the process, keeping it agile and close to the requirements. Quality assurance (ensuring that the development results are good) or product management (ensuring that the right stuff is developed) is a diffe...

Re: Song Writing & Sound Quality
This could get very, very messy. Yeah this not an easy subject. Maybe split modes for the UI only. I don´t get paid for designing Live, so I don´t put the necessary thought for such decissions into it. But there are substantial differences between preparing & performing a Live Show and producing a ...

Yeah you call it. They should do less sexy marketing stuff and make Life easier again. It wont backup their new sales, but keep their customers happy (and from leaving when the competition catches up). I really start to believe that they should split the program. I use live in a DJing or Live use ca...

What about tracks that don´t have clips in the session view?

Re: Parrallel processing support using gpu
For medical applications it´s quite common to use the gpu for algorithms on image(xray) data. This is not complicated with things like OpenCL or OpenTK. Could be more difficult to utilize it for low latency systems though. Also this won´t make Ableton indistructable :P This is more likely a nice to ...

I feel your pain too. It´s hard to describe the problems you get with live once a project passes the play stage and advances to "production". Strange issues with timing and automation. Unclear visual representation of what´s going on, constant pressing of tab, no alias clips, strange automation edit...

Re: Linux version?!
If I´ll get Ableton + the plugins I own as *nix package, I´ll switch instantly. Mainly for the fine-tuning that´s possible on a *nix system. But I´m also a professional software developer/architect programming on large cross-platform projects for over a decade. (I wont start discussing about dynamic...
