Anyone going to Mutek 2006 - Montreal

Anyone going to Mutek 2006 in Montreal? It looks like an interesting event. I just read one of the workshops entitled 'Advanced ABLETON LIVE Techniques', hmmm. Is this thing a thrown-together-party-thing or more of an organized event?

Umm, Full Screen?

Sorry for my absolutely remedial question, but I went to full screen mode (i.e. no top Menus) and I cant figure out how to get back the normal view. How do I go back?

New Ways of Sequencing

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the primary way to sequence with Live, is to trigger/make changes with an external controller, record them as MIDI, then play back the changes trhough Live.

The drawback with this method is going back and editing mountains of MIDI events, just to make a minor change ...

For me the screen is a little large, I'm not sure if you are looking for portability or not. I am no longer a Dell customer, but went to ASUS and am very happy .

Interesting technique, I'll probably try it when I get an external USB soundcard, for now I only have an internal soundcard.

Is there a solution for using only 1 soundcard?

The lack of MIDI support in Ableton Live is unbelievably disappointing. I hope this changes in future releases.

Audio Capture

Is there a way for Live to capture ANY audio that outputs from the computer through the internal soundcard? Will an audio loopback device work?

I would like play audio in different applications on my computer and capture the audio. If Ableton can't, what is recomened?

I was able to fix the problem by dereferencing the VST plugins. Ableton is extremely touchy when it comes to plugins loading. You would think there would be some kind of failsafe.

Thank you all for your suggestion

Novation Remote 25SL USB Midi Controller

Novation Remote 25SL USB Midi Controller. It's a little on the pricy side, but WOW.
