Re: MIDI controller + built in sounds in 1 unit???

Wait a second, the problem is you are thinking about it backwards.

Keyboards that have their own sound engine/samples are not marketed as MIDI controllers, they are sold as Synthetizers, Sampled instruments, performance keyboard or workstations.

The problem you are facing is finding one synth ...

Re: MIDI controller + built in sounds in 1 unit???

There are plenty of keyboards on the market with built in sounds, that can also be used via MIDI and/or USB.

102455: I think maybe you're not following my point. Yes there are plenty of keyboards that have usb ports and can be used as a midi controller. However, from what I've seen there is ...

MIDI controller + built in sounds in 1 unit???

Hey everyone,
This isn't Ableton-specific, but I find the resources here to be more reliable than just about any other forum I reference.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as a MIDI controller keyboard, such as the M-Audio Axiom 61 which has knobs, sliders and pads, that also has ...

Reset EQ8 (or any other device) to factory preset

Hey all,
So I adjusted the EQ8 to fit my kick drum channel, and accidentally saved it as the default preset. I know there is a way to either:
1-reset the EQ8 to factory presets right there in that instance of it OR
2-Change it so that the default preset is the factory flat settings every time I drag ...

Re: Save multiple effects as a preset in Live 9

Finn, PERFECT! I swear I don't know how I missed that. I DID the multiple select and right click, as you would think that's exactly how to do it. I must have had momentary blindness to miss it. Thanks so much!

Save multiple effects as a preset in Live 9

Hey everyone,
Ok, so I just finished a recording session with my cover band. This session was strictly drums and bass, guitar, sax keys later. I am doing an initial mixdown and want to reduce the redundancy of my work. We recorded 6 songs, therefore 6 different .als packs. I know that on each song I ...

THanks again for the replies! Funny, I actually worked on The Apprentice a few years back and spent 5 weeks as a test team member working in Manhattan. The only difference between our team and the real cast (aside from not being on TV) is that the loft in Trump Tower wasn't finished so we had to get ...

I agree on the China Town thing. Might as well be Rush & Division Streets in Chicago for how cliche touristy it is!

I definitely planned on hitting Soho, Greenwich Village, Lower East Side, and South St Seaport for some shopping.

I took the wife to the MOMA last time we were there in '05. LOVED ...

Need help on NYC visit this weekend!

What up everyone,

I am taking my wife to NYC this weekend for our 11th anniversary. We'll do lots of typical stuff, but I would love to hear from the Ableton crowd that lives in NYC on what you think are the must-do/see's while out there. I have been there plenty of times, but you could live there ...

FireWire Interface

I use the MOTU 828 MKII, works great. But for something with similar capabilities and a little more mobile, try the Traveler or the Ultalite:

Recycle

Propellerheads website currently has a number of artist profile videos that show Recycle in use, which I think will definitely help you answer this question.

I think (and I am not an expert here) that the major difference is that when you load a clip in Live, it inserts slices where it thinks the ...

It seems that 99.9% of Live users revolve around trance/house/techno sort of music. While I truly enjoy that style, among many others, I wonder...

Does anyone here use Live to record or augment a traditional live band? I ask because I am in a cover band that does parties, weddings, corporate, etc ...

what's worked for me...

Handbrake. Google it. I use it ALL the time to convert DVD's on my Mac. I don't think it is compatible on PC's, though. Not sure what you're on.

Anyway, it works awesome for me. Good luck.
