But.... I wrote up a little app yesterday showing just a DJ crossfader. I tried using the fader with a touch-screen, and the fader didn't track my finger reliably.... it was even worse when I started getting up to speed like turntablists do...

concerning the modular controller that has been talked about in this thread: what features would such a system need to offer? would it work like a big analog modular synth? how would the mechanical construction be?

I totally agree with Yon. There is a need for a midi controller that makes it easy for live users to perform with, instead of another fader box.
