How to Properly assign an xy pad in ableton?

This has been bugging me for quite some time. Over the years I have tried on and off again to map a set of two different parameters to xy pads on various midi controllers with no luck whatsoever. Lately I've been messing around with my korg kp3 in ext. ctrl. mode and everything maps fine except for ...

Think I Found A Tempo midi mapping BUG

I was attempting to use live as a pseudo 3rd deck in a dj setup yesterday by mapping the tempo controls to Sliders on my x0session pro and This is the problem that I ran into. I successfully mapped Main tempo to Slider 1 on my x-session. I limited the control values from 60 to 187 so as to have comp...

Any one know of A 'Key Command' editor for XP?

Thought that a trusty google search would help me find a few but after multiple searches and only lousy results for 'key maker' and 'keygens' i have decided to give up and ask on here. Does anybody use or know of a "custom key command" program for windows xp? I use one on the mac that is c...

Re: xp audio interface input audio always Audible?

Why are you running Live on a Mac with Xp? just curious. I am only running xp through bootcamp on my home desktop tower system. This thread is about my little mini Acer netbook which is a full on windows machine. As to why I am running xp through bootcamp on my desktop machine though, it is because...

Re: xp audio interface input audio always Audible?

I think its your interface that is set up to run 1/2 to your headphone mix.. so you're getting a direct monitor from the interface as to what's going on on input 1/2, so you should probably hear a double up of 1/2 when you crossfade to the kaossilator channel, is that correct? Yea the problem defin...

Re: xp audio interface input audio always Audible?

ok. Here's another way to re iterate my question. How do i make it so that my signal is NOT being doubled when monitoring my record input in a daw? When Im in Ableton Live and I select my audio interfaces Inputs for monitoring/recording on a track the sound is suddenly being Doubled up and totally p...

xp audio interface input audio always Audible?

Anyone here know the answer/solution to this problem? I've noticed it for a long time but it never really bothered me until now where it's actually screwing up what i want to do. I've noticed that with any audio interface installed on a pc that if you have an instrument (synth or whatever) going int...

Re: 8.0.3 was working alright until last night. Beat Repeat bug

yes beat repeat has a fucking gnarly bug. Ive been living with it , i believe since live 6 but maybe it was just 7. However it has certainly been carried over to live 8. I have a few different beat repeat racks that i have made (all with native live effects) and yes sometimes for no reason whatso ev...

Re: Lives sound engine argument again ...

the people at Ableton have stated many many many many times that at a clip's original bpm the only warp mode that affects the audio is Complex and Complex Pro. whatever you're hearing you're diagnosing it wrong. Wow actually i just tested it quickly on live 7 here at work and you're right. All 3 of...

Re: Help Akai APC40 or Korg Zero 8 - Need some advice & opinion!

i use a zero4 AND an apc40. it is THE perfect combination. i strongly suggest you get both the zero8 and the apc40, it will be heaven, trust me! regarding your questions of hte zero8. sound quality issues have been resolved. yes its huge, and lugging it around will require a custom flight case, i w...

Re: Help Akai APC40 or Korg Zero 8 - Need some advice & opinion!

I owned a zero4 and the overall sound quality and drivers were quite sub-par.
If you're looking to go the hybrid mixer/midi controller route then I highly suggest taking a look at the Ecler evo5.

Re: Lives sound engine argument again ...

Live has a bad name because the standard mode of operating is that every audio loop always gets time stretched Nope. Only in complex or complex pro mode. All other warp modes will not affect your loops as long as you don't change the tempo. That's absolutely not true (and Ecspecially with the Grain...
