bitstream 3x - knob assignment

I'm looking for a way to auto-assign the knobs on my bitstream3x in live.
I want to sequentially assign the knobs to whatever controls are in the currently selected plugin, similarly to the way the APC works.

has anyone done anything like this using mfl or the python API?

Re: Note to midi conversion (possible?)

double click the help file, it will open in max. most objects have such a file that describes the objects use, i/o, etc... usually in the form of a working patch. I'll see if I can cobble something together and post it. the thing with freq to midi conversion is that harmonics become an issue really ...

Re: Note to midi conversion (possible?)

put the .mxo file in your max5/cycling 74/msp-externals/ folder and the help file in max5/cycling 74/msp-help/

Re: Note to midi conversion (possible?)

look at fiddle~... it's an external originally written by Miller Puckette and ported to max/msp by David Zicarelli (c74 founder)

http://crca.ucsd.edu/~tapel/software.html

these are exactly the sorts of things that max/msp is really great for.

Re: APC40 Device Control

same question here...
all my params are mapped to some seemingly random knob in one page or another... for example I have a live.tab in one device and it turns up as knob 1 on page 1 to choose the selected tab!!!

anyone got ideas on this? maybe it has to do with bpatcher nesting levels?

possibly silly question... [edit] never mind...[/edit]

normally in max, I'd lay stuff out in presentation mode, then group things for easy reading/editing in patching mode... in mfl, the device limit line only shows in patching mode, if I move things above where the line would be in pres. mode, objects still won't show on the device in live. any ideas? ...

it is totally worth it, once you get used to the awesome ay the machine drum UI stays out of your way, you'll find it a pain in the arse to pick up the mouse. resampling is really simple and spontaneous on the UW and you can load all your battery stuff on it too. (obviously not all at once)
