Re: web site hosting r.i.p. my space

Hi Mick,

I prefer soundcloud.com and the possibility to embed your tracks in you own website. On your Facebook artist page you can use e.g. Bandpage or Soundcloud to present your music.

best reagards,

Re: Panning in Ableton to get a better mix

Hi 2beats,

I've never really thought about how panning has been implemented in Live. Thank you for your great article. I'm quite confident it will change the way I'll mix my next songs.

best regards,
Marco

Re: XEON vs. I7 for Ableton?

I already have a I7-2600K 64 bit with 12gb ram, but i often need to bounce to get the performance i need. At which clock speed you are running your current i7-2600K ? Only at stock speed of 3.4Ghz? I could simply overclock my 2700k to fixed speed at 4.2Ghz no matter how much core are used at the sa...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces

The only feature I'm missing is a wifi interface and iPad app to use the UCX as a standalone mixer. There is an TotalMix FX app for iPad available on the AppStore. I bought it, but couldn't find time to try it out. Here's the link to the RME forum with some screenshots. http://www.rme-audio.de/foru...

Terratec Phase X24 FW, Terratec Phase 24 FW cheap interface with good sound, but old not very reliable drivers

Re: Midi Controlled Lighting

Very cool! I've got a AT90USBKEY, which is, as far as I know, very similar to the Tennsy board. Do you plan to release the source code?

Re: CPU Issues

Maybe you can decrease the CPU temps and the fan speed by forcing your Macbook to use only the integrated graphics of your CPU instead of the discrete GPU. As you can see here on the second picture the CPU and GPU are using the same heat sink. http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/MacBook+Pro+15-Inch+Unibo...

Re: RME Multiface II dilemma

The RME Fireface UCX and UFX are class compliant as well and they will support TotalMix FX App.

Re: New Computer for Live 9 - Win 7 or 8 ??

Most annoying thing on Windows 7 is that you need to power on all your FireWire & USB devices before you start Live. Quite often my APC40 & APC20 were not recognised by Live 8 even when I switched them on before. On OSX I am able to switch my devices on after Live has been started and I can ...

Re: Changing sample rate in the middle of a project ?

So basically, i should stick to 44.1kHz ... Yes, or 88.2khz or 176.4khz ;) ...but i can change to 24bit without any problems ? Yes. Internally Live computes always with more than 16bit. With 24bit you simply have more headroom and your are able to record high quality with lower input levels. With 1...

Re: Changing sample rate in the middle of a project ?

I'd like to use 48kHz/24bit to take benefit from my new soundcard and microphones. I wouldn't record in 48khz, because then Live would need to interpolate your recording by converting the samplerate to 44khz. I am pretty sure you can hear it when you are going from 48khz to 44khz. Why not simply re...

Re: Getting a new Macbook, which one to get?

Be aware, you can not upgrade RAM on the retina model. Moreover the retina model does not use standard SSDs. http://store.apple.com/us/question/answers/mac/how-to-upgrade-the-ram-on-the-new-macbook-pro-retina/Q92AK4YFDYXDPYUCA I bought an used Macbook Pro 17 (i7 quad core, 2.3 Ghz) with 1920x1200px ...
