You can open two instances of Live on a Mac, by going to the "Terminal" and typing "open -n " then dragging the Ableton icon from finder to the terminal to complete the line.

is it possible to normalize soundfiles in ableton?

i've found that if i right-click on a soundfile and select slice to new midi track, i can get the files in that way, but i can only have one soundfile per track that way and it would be nice to have multiple slices in one space. know how to do that?

when i try that it won't let me drop files into the area. do you mean the place where you click to create notes? in the form of red squares? or where the name of the instrument (eg kik) is displayed? i can't drop files on either of these places... thanks for replying though!

i've been creating beats in midi note editor using impulse. i would like to make beats in the same way but out of really short sound files that i have recorded (clicks, pops etc). how can i do this?
