Re: FCB1010 expression pedal light...how turn it on?

The light is just an indicator that the expression pedal(s) is/are activated in that particular patch. I'm guessing somehow you didn't include the expression pedal(s) in those patches. Should be easy enough to edit the patches, re-activate and assign the pedals. In case you forgot how to program it,...

Re: Can I build a quadraphonic (4-channel) panner?

There is a M4L device called "3D Panner" freely available on maxforlive.com's library. I haven't tried it yet but I think it does exactly what you are talking about.

So 7-odd years later, I find this thread... For what it's worth, Macrobat's MIDI Rack function allows you to send SysEx messages from a Live device. Macrobat is part of ClyphX - http://beatwise.proboards.com/thread/99 ... phx-live-8

Did you ever find an answer to your question, or a work-around? I picked up a DMXis this week and it's great but you bring up some interesting things to work on.

Re: Controlling LED lighting with a USB-DMX interface (NOT Midi)

I just picked up an Enttec DMXis box on Tuesday, and it is pretty darn amazing. It generates the DMX stream from an onboard chip, so it's very solid and can respond lightning-fast to almost anything I throw at it. The only thing slowing me down is the speed of my moving heads. I started programming ...

Re: guitar pedals as effects sends

Personally I use the external effect device and hook it up to extra outs and ins on my interface. But using an aux send out and a new channel in (or the aux return channel if you don't need independent control of the effect signal) on a mixer would work just fine.

Re: How precise does adsr need to between sub and bass?

I never even thought about this. I like my subs to have a very short attack and a little bit of a release time, such as you'd hear out of a bass guitar. This is completely independent of whatever envelope I am using on my main bass. I think you may be overthinking it. Hardly anyone can hear the atta...

Re: how to the get sound of 80's VHS ?

This is a great thread. A+! When I was first learning to sequence, on a Tandy computer running Sequencer Plus Gold in 1992, I used to record my "masterpieces" to HiFi VHS and I can confirm it's almost idiotproof and provides really great sound. I had no idea that professional studios had u...

Re: guitar pedals as effects sends

I've done this with no problem. You were right to suspect a level difference--the main issue you'll run into is that line outs push a lot more power than guitar pedals are looking for. You won't break the pedal, but you'll know right away if your send is too loud because it'll be overdriving the inp...

Re: Something to make all of you sound designers think

Fun challenge! Here's my take. Two chains. "Door closed" and "Door open". Put a low-pass at about 90Hz. on the "door closed" chain. Crossfade this with a "door open" chain which has a few things going on (in order of signal path): One, a stereo delay set to ab...

Re: Lighting/hardware API for lighting systems?

So I built a color organ kit, and it does indeed make your lamps flash with the music. Pick out some cool lamps, and you have a pretty responsive and musical sound-controlled light source. However, the frequency response of the 4 channels is not exact enough to do what I was thinking. Currently look...

Oh, hey, glad to see you in here. No ideas for a venue on my end, but if you find a space and want to move forward with getting people on-board, I'm definitely interested.
