Re: Best way to learn max for live
On another note, I heard a while back about a book that was coming out soon that was a course designed to teach Max. Problem is I've forgotten it! Does anyone else know of this, and when it might be coming out?

Re: Best way to learn max for live
One other suggestion. The Max tutorials were rewritten for Max 5, but if you are going after the basics, many of the older tutorials are still very good (and a bit more narrative in form). They can be downloaded from Cycling's site here....

Re: live.remote~ and live.path
Hi, Korhan.
Yeah, that would probably be the next thing to try. Also make sure your Max and Live installs are up to date (both current release versions are at 5.1.4). Earlier versions had more issues.
Let us know what you find.

Re: live.remote~ and live.path
Hi again, Korhan.
First, I can relate to API and parameter modulation stuff crashing in the editing environment a fair amount. Also, it sometimes helps when you save and close your MFL device to reopen your Live set. That seems to reinitialize things more thoroughly.

Dear PID, broc, Andrew, et alia:
Yes, things that used to work fine don't anymore. What doesn't work at this point is pattr recalling its value when in a subpatcher.
Pattr (in parameter mode) does not initialize properly within subpatchers. On the top level of the patch, everything is fine. In a ...

Re: pack.maxhelp inconsistancy ?
yes, i'm on mac and do have a full max license. when working in max launched from live, i have noticed some occasional strangeness with the scheduler (sometimes unresponsiveness in GUI objects, sometimes with the print object [message seems more reliable]) from time to time, but nothing consistent ...
